Wayne started Shotokan Karate in middle school in 1981. He learned blocks and kicks which peaked his interest and love for the martial arts.
In 1991 he started training with Kyoshi Pat Haley. Wayne has competed in tournaments and has been to seminars and camps.
Wayne has also trained with Shugoro Nakzato in Okinawa.
He learned Ti Subaki and weapons katas from TL Unisa.
Wayne holds a Nanadan in Empty Hand and a Nidan in Kabudo. He also has his Sheehan teaching certificate.
